In 2010 I became a graduate student of biology at GVSU. I will earn my Master's degree after...a few more? semesters. I am back in Barrow for the field season and am excessively happy to be here. My old buddies Jobby and Papasaurus are here as well, along with the new girl, Kelsey. We have more things to do this year... but we won't forget to collect fossils and play euchre.
2009
In 2009 I mostly did not write in this blog. Student teaching took up my time, my money, and my anger, but I did it because my boss told me to and he is a wise man. By the end of 2009 I was studying science and 7th grade English Language Arts was a distant memory.
2008
I spent the summer of 2008 in Barrow, Alaska, with frequent trips to the village of Atqasuk. I was one member of a four person team from GVSU in Grand Rapids, MI. We studied the effects of climate change on tundra vegetation and generally had a splendid time. So splendid, in fact, that one member in particular did not want to leave!
